Boating Advice 2 weeks, 3 days agoLooking for advice on best family sailing vessel under $5k – looking for something 25’-30’, sleeps 4, hopefully has enclosed head but not required. Would like her to be seaworthy enough for crossing Juan de Fuca Strait. And enough space below for a family of 3 or 4 to get out of the elements, cook an evening meal at anchor, etc. Suggestions?

My father went to sea when he was about 14 on the British barq GLENESSLIN out of Plymouth, England. He jumped ship in Nanimo and later the vessel went aground south of the mouth of the Columbia.
