Just came through there yesterday (July 12th) We saw a few spots that were very shallow! Of course it was a negative tide, but still a nail biter.

Problem is, the fact that these names are the top 10 in the US means that at best they can only be average. I never understood why someone would name a boat, based on the fact that they saw a shitload of other boats with that name. I think a better poll would be “what [...]

I prefer to anchor on my own gear. And almost always do.

Public buoys are installed by people that don’t know you or your boat. They most likely do want to know or care either.

My boat only carries 80 gallons and we filled up last fall. We should be good till next fall. Oh and the engine on my boat is only double the horse power of my dinghy’s OB. Sooooo, she sips fuel, when we aren’t sailin…..err becalmed.
