“Semper gumbi: how we built and commissioned a Diesel Duck in SE Asia and learned to love it”.
Dave and Dorothy Nagle on MV DavidEllis DD462-02 (Seahorse Marine built, George Buehler design Diesel Duck) lived aboard in SE Asia, except for short visits home. In Sept 09 thru June 2010 they attended classes at Seattle Maritime Academy in Ballard. Late summer 09, summer 10, winter 10-11 and summer 11 were all spent in SE Alaska.
While building, commissioning and shaking down, the boat was the ‘ends'; now she’s become the ‘means’ to explore new places, live there awhile, get to know folks before moving on.
We hope you can make it for this very interesting presentation
