Ghost Ships and other scary tales

Aug 18 2009 in On the Rocks by Marty McOmber

Wow, now this is a scary trip down memory lane. I would imagine that there are few things quite so disturbing as seeing a vessel adrift with no one on board.  A piece in The Telegraph newspaper highlights a few of the maritime mystery ships throughout history.  My takeaway — avoid the ice pack. Paradise on the line

Jul 15 2009 in On the Rocks by Marty McOmber

May 22 2009 in On the Rocks by Deborah Bach

Ever wondered why the state doesn’t put all boating-related information on one website so you can easily find it instead of searching all over the Internet? Well, fret no more. The good people at the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office have done exactly that. The office launched a new website yesterday that serves at [...]

SAS lands Valiant dealership

May 22 2009 in On the Rocks by Marty McOmber

Seattle boat brokerage SAS Yachts has landed the Valiant line of offshore sailing boats. The pricey but proven long-distance cruising boats were originally designed by Seattle’s Robert Perry.  SAS broker Judy Nasmith was especially excited about the deal—she lived aboard a Valient 47 for five years. In announcing the new line, Nasmith also said that SAS’s used yacht [...]
