Group releases book on Puget Sound marine environment

The News Tribune has this story in today’s issue:

Harbor WildWatch, a Gig Harbor environmental education group, has published a new book on Puget Sound’s marine environment.

“Puget Sound’s Wildside, A Natural History of Puget Sound’s Marine Environment” provides an overview of the marine environment in the Sound and threats to its health and survival. The book was written by Katrina Mikitik and Corey Watson, with illustrations by Ram Papish.

The book is filled with information and fast facts about the creatures that live in and around the Sound. Among the topics covered are the feather duster worm, barnacles, moon snails, common harbor seals and pigeon guillemots.
