The Seattle Times has this story by reporter John de Leon:
The State Patrol says the quick actions of a boater may have saved the life of a distraught woman who jumped from the Highway 520 bridge this morning into the frigid waters of Lake Washington.
At approximately 11:15, the State Patrol 911 dispatch center was flooded with calls reporting a woman had stopped her car in the right westbound lane near the bridge’s east highrise and was threatening to jump.
The woman jumped into Lake Washington before troopers arrived at the scene.
